Recent growth and impending rollout of a new, innovative training program
prompted need for more space
Las Vegas, Nev. – National Technical Institute (NTI), a state approved trade school with campuses in Henderson and Phoenix, AZ that specializes in HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical training and certificates, is expanding its campus in Las Vegas due to recent growth and the anticipated roll-out of new, innovative program. The Henderson campus will now include a two-story building adjacent to its main building that will house portions of its HVAC and plumbing courses with additional, newly built labs and classrooms.
“When the pandemic started and jobs were lost due to the lock down, many Las Vegans saw it as a chance to train for a new career in an essential field. This drove enrollment to unprecedented levels,” said Chris Roth, CEO and owner of NTI. “Fast forward to 2022, we are planning to launch a first-of-its-kind national program this year and need to prepare for an influx of students from all over the country. This new building will help to accommodate our existing students as well as those who will be enrolled in the new program.”
Now is the perfect time to pursue a career in skilled trades. According to a recent survey by the Associated General Contractors of America 89% of contractors are having a difficult time finding workers who were trained for the job with the Copper Development Association (CDA), finding more than one half of trade professionals in the United States are close to retirement age and overall statistics forecasting three out of every four trade professionals will retire by the year 2030.
“The trades skills gap has continually increased over the years, with all industries impacted. With many of our students hired before they even graduate now is the perfect time to enter the trades,” said Roth.
NTI fully prepares graduates to enter the workforce with high earnings potential. According to the U.S. Bureau Labor of Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook the average salary is $450,590 for HVAC installers and mechanics, $56,330 for plumbers, and $56,900 for electricians.
The school offers students practical skills in HVAC, plumbing and electrical with 30 percent of lecture learning and 70 percent hands-on lab learning, as well as a HVAC Fusion Training Program consisting of online classes and in-person training. To enroll, students must be 18 years or older and provide proof of high school graduation or equivalent. Please contact admissions for more information on program start dates.
