New programs offer a hybrid of online classes and practical hands-on training
Las Vegas, Nev - April 12, 2021 - National Technical Institute (NTI), a state approved trade school that specializes in HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical training and certificates, is launching Plumbing and Electric Fusion Training, a new hybrid learning program that combines both online and in-person classes. After completing the approximately 150 competency based instructional videos and the 80 hours of hands-on practical training at the school, graduates will earn a certificate as an Entry Level Plumbing or Electrical Technician and have the foundation needed to start a career in the industry.
The plumbing and electrical course study are available at both the Las Vegas and Phoenix campus and provides weekly video instruction that introduces students to the fundamentals of the trade. The series of videos can be viewed remotely from anywhere and watched at the student’s own pace, with tests that follow each module. Weekly lab sessions at the school’s campus in Phoenix and 5 weeks, 4 days a week of hands-on work in Las Vegas, brings the video lessons to life by reproducing the weekly lessons through practical applications

“With many careers in turmoil from the pandemic, we knew it was time to launch a new program offering hybrid classes. Allowing the student to participate remotely at a speed that caters to each individual’s style of learning, the program is the most customized and convenient learning environment for those embarking on a new career path in the trades,” said Chris Roth, CEO and owner of NTI.
Videos for the plumbing courses include the principles of plumbing, plumbing fixtures install/repair, toilet function/repairs, water heaters/tankless, gas piping install/repair, jobsite safety and more. Videos for electrical courses include grounding theory, wiring methods and practices, green technology, national electrical codes, electrical careers trade/safety and more.
For the hands-on lab learning, students are taught plumbing and electrical techniques in state-of-the-art labs, that reinforce basic and advanced skills needed to bring value to the respective industry. “NTI’s philosophy is you truly can’t learn to swim without getting into the water. In these hybrid courses, videos teach, understanding the ‘how and why’ behind the selected trade and attending the hands-on lab is like getting into the water – it’s a must for the student’s success,” said Roth.
Launched in 2020, NTI in Las Vegas and Phoenix also offers an HVAC Fusion Training Program consisting of online classes and in-person training. NTI fully prepares graduates to enter the workforce with high earnings potential. According to the U.S. Bureau Labor of Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook the average salary is $48,730 for HVAC installers and mechanics, $55,160 for plumbers, and $56,180 for electricians.
