Open House to be held Sept. 15-16 at the new Houston campus, offering classes in
HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical with state-of-the-art classrooms and labs
Las Vegas – National Technical Institute (NTI), a state approved trade school with campuses in Las Vegas and Phoenix specializing in HVAC, plumbing and electrical training and certifications, brings its unique approach to trade school education to Houston, Texas offering courses in HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical in brand new, state-of-the-art classrooms and labs. Located at 9001 Jameel Rd., Suite 100, NTI will hold an Open House on Friday, September 15 from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday, September 16 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the campus and learn about essential, in-demand careers in the skilled trades industry.
As Baby Boomers phase out of the work force in record numbers, with an estimated 75 million expected to retire by 2030, the need for skilled trade professionals is at an all time high.
“This is a great time for men and women in Texas to take advantage of this workforce gap and learn a trade that offers a lifetime of opportunities in an essential career that will always be needed no matter where you live,” said Ryan Woodward, CEO of NTI. “A shortage of workers can be devastating for a business and the community at large. That is why we continue to expand, and the opening of the Houston campus is another step forward to help solve this problem.”
NTI offers in-person classes for certificate programs in HVAC, plumbing and electrical. There are also hybrid programs available that include a combination of virtual coursework and in-person, hands-on lab classes conducted in state-of-the-art training labs. Boasting a curriculum with a proven track record designed by contractors working in the field, NTI offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience and graduate with job-ready trade skills without the massive burden of debt from a four-year degree.
“We know from our campuses in Las Vegas and Phoenix that contractors are in desperate need of skilled trade workers, which is why many NTI students are hired even before they graduate. The issue is the same in Texas, and since our programs are much shorter than most trade schools, we are able to get our students ready to work in just a few months,” said David Lee, Chief Operations Officer of NTI.
Lee served as campus director for National Technical Institute’s Phoenix location before relocating to Texas to oversee the construction of the Houston campus. As the leader of NTI’s market expansions, his role takes on extra significance as he is responsible for overseeing the buildout of NTI’s campus labs for all three disciplines taught at the school: HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
Campus Director Derek NeSmith has transferred from the Las Vegas campus and will direct recruiting and staffing for the school’s faculty and administration teams while developing the campus culture and learning environment needed for students to succeed.
NTI differs from other skilled trade schools by offering affordable tuition, flexible financing options, a comprehensive fast-track training program, and a unique hybrid learning model with as little as 8-16 weeks to complete.
Enrollment is now open for all programs. To learn more about the new NTI campus in Houston visit ntitexas.com or call (346)245-8705 to schedule an appointment.
