Partnership removes financial barrier to a high-demand HVAC, Electrical and Refrigeration career
- The 12-week hands-on training scholarship accepts applications through July 24 2026, assessed on readiness, commitment, and job placement potential.
- NAWIC Las Vegas Chapter and QTC aim to expand access to skilled trades careers, especially for women entering construction and technical fields now.
LAS VEGAS – Quality Training Centers (QTC), Southern Nevada’s longest-running independent trade school and the region’s only trade school operated by contractors, has partnered with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Las Vegas Chapter to launch the QTC-National Association of Women in Construction Las Vegas Chapter 74 Scholarship. The new initiative is designed to remove financial barriers to technical education while creating a direct pathway into some of Southern Nevada’s most in-demand skilled trade careers.
The scholarship is valued at $8,900 and will provide one recipient with full tuition for the 12-week of hands-on training in HVAC, Electrical or Refrigeration. To support the student’s success, QTC is matching NAWIC’s contribution dollar-for-dollar, covering 100 percent of tuition costs and will provide an introductory tool kit to help them begin their training. Interested candidates may apply now through July 24, 2026, for the scholarship.
The partnership combines NAWIC’s mission of supporting and advancing individuals in the construction industry with QTC’s contractor-led training model, which was built specifically to prepare students for immediate employment. Together, the goal is to create greater access to technical education while helping address the ongoing demand for skilled trade professionals throughout Southern Nevada.
“Contractors are looking for qualified technicians, and we know there are talented individuals who simply need an opportunity to get started,” said Chris Roth, co-owner of Quality Training Centers. “This scholarship helps us identify motivated individuals and provide them with the training needed to enter an industry that offers strong opportunities for growth. With morning, afternoon and evening class options, students can train while continuing to work and manage other commitments.”
“NAWIC has always been committed to creating opportunities for individuals pursuing careers in construction and the skilled trades,” said Yessica Romero, Board President of NAWIC Las Vegas Chapter. “By partnering with QTC, we’re able to connect someone with hands-on technical training, industry mentorship and a professional network that can support them throughout their career. We hope this scholarship inspires people to explore the opportunities available in the trades.”
Scholarship Eligibility:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Cannot be currently enrolled at Quality Training Centers
- Must complete a campus tour and application in person at QTC campus
- Must be prepared to enroll and begin training within approximately 30 days of selection
Because this program hopes to inspire future trade professionals, the selected recipient must also consent to documenting their trade school journey.
The Selection Process:
Applicants will be evaluated on their commitment to pursuing a career in the skilled trades, overall readiness for training, ability to successfully complete the program and potential for employment after graduation. Finalists’ applications will be reviewed by QTC leadership and representatives from the NAWIC Las Vegas Chapter.
Interested candidates can schedule a campus tour and complete the application process by calling (702) 597-0861 and scheduling an appointment with Jasmine or by emailing [email protected]. The deadline to apply is July 24, 2026.
