Las Vegas Natural History Museum Invites Locals to Explore the Rainforest in New Summer Traveling Exhibition
On display until August 10, Rainforest Adventure takes explorers on a journey through all four layers of the rainforest ecosystem, bringing tropical biodiversity to the Las Vegas desert
Las Vegas – This summer, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum invites the public to embark on an immersive journey through the rainforest in its new traveling exhibit, Rainforest Adventure. An interactive maze that brings the wonders of tropical rainforests to life in the heart of the desert, the exhibit takes visitors through the four vital layers of the rainforest—the emergent layer, canopy, understory, and forest floor.

“Rainforest Adventure offers a truly unique experience where visitors don’t just learn about rainforests—they actively engage with them,” said Ashley Glenn, Marketing Manager at Las Vegas Natural History Museum. “The contrast between our desert environment and the lush rainforest creates a powerful educational opportunity that helps visitors appreciate Earth’s incredible diversity.”
Created in partnership with Minotaur Mazes, the exhibition transforms learning into an active experience through its educational maze format. Visitors navigate through distinct pathways where correct answers to ecological questions lead deeper into the rainforest, while wrong turns create “teachable moments” at dead ends. The exhibit includes authentic rainforest sounds and numerous hands-on activities that engage all the senses.https://www.lvnhm.org/event-details/harmony-in-diversity-day.

The exhibit offers engaging activities where guests can:
• Learn how birds migrate and the hazards they face
• Swing like spider monkeys through the canopy
• Test their leaping abilities in comparison to rainforest frogs
• Identify products derived from rainforests through smell
• Explore the importance of rainforests for our global ecosystem
“Even though rainforests seem worlds away from Las Vegas, they affect our climate and weather patterns here in the desert—everything’s connected,” Glenn added. “Many everyday products we use come from rainforest regions, so understanding these ecosystems helps us make better choices about resources we depend on.”
On display now until August 10, Rainforest Adventure is part of the museum’s Engelstad Foundation Traveling Exhibition Series and is included with museum admission or membership.
Located north of Cashman Center at 900 Las Vegas Blvd N., the museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission tickets are priced at $14 per adult, $12 for students, seniors and military personnel, and $7 for children ages 3-11 and can be purchased online at http://www.lvnhm.org or at the door. Discounts are available for Nevada residents.
