Multipure’s Dewey, The Clean Water Superhero Returns!

Latest Comic Book Issue Features Villains Created by Clark County School District Student Contestants; Available in Print and Online for Free

Las Vegas – Multipure, a trusted leader in the water filtration industry for more than 50 years, has released the fourth installment in its FREE comic book series, Dewey, The Clean Water Superhero. This latest issue, Toxic Tides, introduces Toxic Girl, a student-created villain from Multipure’s sponsored Clark County School District (CCSD) Community Partnership Contest, who threatens the city’s water supply.

Multipure launches issue #4 in the Dewey, The Clean Water Superhero Comic Book Series, Toxic Tides.

About Toxic Tides: Dewey Faces Toxic Girl in a High-Stakes Water Adventure

When Dewey discovers the city’s water has been contaminated, he springs into action to identify the source. He confronts Toxic Girl, whose plan to destroy the water supply threatens the community, but as Dewey uncovers the personal pain behind her actions, she begins to question her choices. Dewey helps guide her toward a better path while restoring the city’s water and encouraging positive choices for the greater good.

Toxic Tides closes with more characters from the student contest, Frostbite and Tony Toxin, whose plans were thwarted when Toxic Girl had a change of heart and started working with Dewey.

“This issue is particularly special because it brings students’ ideas to life,” said Zachary Rice, President of Multipure. “Toxic Girl is a compelling character who shows that even those who have been hurt can find a better path, and the story emphasizes clean water, community responsibility, and making smart choices.”

Free digital copies of Toxic Tides and all previous Dewey issues are available at: https://www.multipure.com/dewey. Print copies of the new issue are available by request and at community events where Multipureparticipates, including the Candlelighters Superhero 5K, PBS Be My Neighbor Day and Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest.

Celebrating Student Creativity: Clark County School District Hydration Heroes Contest

Held in April 2025, Multipure’s engaging Hydration Heroes student contest invited grades K–5 across the Clark County School District to design a villain for Dewey, The Clean Water Superhero, and explain why Dewey must defeat them. The contest received an impressive 268 imaginative entries, showcasing the creativity and insight of local young minds thinking critically about water safety and environmental responsibility.

The winning characters, Toxic Girl, Frostbite, and Tony Toxin, now come to life in Multipure’s Toxic Tides comic, bringing the students’ ideas from page to reality. In recognition of their contributions, students and classrooms received cash prizes and school donations, with Dewey making special appearances to present awards and celebrate their achievements. Top-submitting classrooms and schools also won prizes and interactive educational visits, highlighting Multipure’s commitment to inspiring the next generation of water-conscious citizens.

“Our goal with this contest was to ignite creativity while educating young students about the importance of clean water,” added Rice. “Through Dewey’s action-packed adventures we hope to show kids how much water matters and empower kids to make a positive impact in their communities.”
